Day Dreaming about Dresses

Every New Years Eve I'm forced to hit the bottle after a stressful day of trying to determine what I should be wearing as the clock strikes midnight and my chariot turns into a pumpkin. It's possible you share my same dilemma too. Luckily you can skip the drunken uncertainty that is your wardrobe because I've chosen for you. Instead enjoy the drunken absurdity that is having to pay a cover charge anywhere you go tonight! CHEERS!

Peach? Belch!

Chris Benz is well on his way to making a hit in the beauty department this coming February. That's when his new lipstick for Lancôme lands in stores, a peachy hue named Chris & Tell that's been in the works and buzzed about for nearly six months , but that's also been totally unavailable!! Now wait lists are open at Saks Fifth Avenue and Lancôme boutiques for the $29 tube. The peachy color itself is sort of blah and looks like something you'd find in one of those spend $25 or more and receive a free gift bag at Macy's.
But you know I'll be on that wait list anyway. AH CB HOW I HEART THY!

Shaved heads - A brief history

Solange shocked the world by stepping out with her hair completely shaved off. This was the culmination of a slew of recent lady head-shavings: Cassie shaved half her head, Alice Dellal–style, in April; Rihanna shaved the bottom part of her head earlier in the year and Carmen Electra shaved half her head, Cassie-style, last month. And new to the list is my friend Thais, who quote,"wanted this cut since I was 5."
Of course, shaved heads are nothing new. But the recent events indicate this style is really having a moment. In the past, actresses like Natalie Portman have done it for roles in forgettable sci-fi films. Britney did it for, um, personal reasons.

And now enjoy these pictures of memorable shave heads of decades past:

Now the unvailing of Thais' fabulous do!

9

Ah one more reason to add to the list of reasons why I love Daniel Day-Lewis, Nine!
Federico Fellini's 8½ is on many a movie fan's top 10 list. And so naturally, it had to be remade—first as a Broadway musical and now as the all-singing, all-dancing Hollywood blockbuster, due out this month. Like the original, the new flick tells the story of a harried filmmaker's retreat into memory and fantasy as he juggles the competing demands of the women in his life.

Cheers and Good Evening all!

XOXOXO

Much Fresher Fruit

I'm in love with this new site I found while perusing through style.com. Much like the satorialist this site capture's only the hippest of hip that roam through the streets of Japan leaving behind the cartoonish baby doll dresses and harajuku girls of yesteryear.

Check it out!!

Oh the weather outside is frightful

Snapped these pictures Friday during work to keep myself sane. I should have worn socks that day! I've never seen it rain this much in San Diego. It was so wet it almost looked like a real city. Stay dry kid's!

Etsy.com

Over the past weekend I went to Thread and met this really great jewelry vendor who had set up a booth at the show. I took her card and she promised I could find more of her designs on Etsy.com. So I typed it in my search engine and wandered through the site and haven't logged off since. I love Etsy because it helps up and coming designer's post and sell their stuff. Not only that but you can find some great vintage piece's. Check out what I found today!

Alexa Chung's MTV gig canceled

Say it ain't so! My favorite "it" girl and TV personality's show has been euthanized. The last episode is slated to air December 17th so mark you calenders! Look's like MTV will have a new time spot to air Jersey Shore reruns...yippy. NOT!

all i want for christmas is you

Sometime in the afternoon yesterday somewhere between that bum and the 7/11 on India. I was thinking to myself, "What do I want for Christmas?" THEN suddenly I opened my Vogue and found it. Iconic guerrilla graffiti artist teaming up with Keihl's to moisture my fingertips. This is the perfect gift this holiday because the bottles benefit nonprofit organization RxArt, I'm not sure who they are but I'm passing up the usual Lubriderm for this. Cheers!

Currently Obsessing Over.....

Guy Bourdin a french photographer with a mysterious and creepy past.
He worked with Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Chanel, Issey Miyake, Emanuel Ungaro, Pentax and Gianni Versace.
These pictures are so timeless and modern. They could hold there own amongst some of the crap that runs in magazines today. I definitely can see the similarities between his photography and the ads of Tom Ford, Miu Miu and Jimmy Choo.
I just adore the picture of the girl doing a table pose for Tony Manero in a garter belt no less!
Enjoy!

Meet my new bow's

Just found these @ Forever 21 for $2.80! Go get you some!

brrrrr it's cold!

It's here!!!! WINTER!!! Well sort of. The weather here in San Diego is so blah! One day its sunny the next it's cloudy and I always cross my fingers for rain but the mist that rolls in with the fog is usually all I get. So since I can't rely on the weather to put me in the holiday mood, I'll leave it up to Starbucks. I had my first gingerbread latte of the year today and now I can't stop humming Vince Guaraldi's, A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Check out these items I found in the holiday section of Anthropologie's website there definitely on my Christmas wish list along with a car that goes in reverse.
Cheers!

Pumpkin Soup

I can't believe it November already. I feel like October flew by so fast that I didn't have time to carve a jack o' lantern or hang cobb webs. Luckily my bicycle is full of spider webs and I was just given the perfect pumpkin. It's like October never left. So here it is my pumpkin/dinner. I've never made pumpkin soup before and I have to admit I'm sort of nervous but really this can't go wrong. Roast it, add some spices, pour some veggie stock in it, maybe some half and half and ta da I've got me some supper. Send me your reciepe if you have one!

Anna Wintour turns 60 today!

Collection 2 - Clearly Halloween Inspired

Before I start on one of my rants I really want to thank my portfolio teacher Mrs. Snell!
Thank you so much for being so patient with me, letting me ask you the same question 50 times until it stuck and for emailing you at ungodly hours of the day. Photo Shop apparently not the easiest design software to pick up. BUT I've managed and now I have this kickass portfolio I can use as bait to get me a radical fashion job!

Impressive, I know. :)

Max Update

So Halloween has come and gone and I still think I have a stomach ache from all the candy I ate.
I ended up going trick-or-treating with B, her dad and bunches and bundles of Golden Hill kiddies. It made me so happy to see her so excited about her own costume she literally howled for joy.

ZR Spring 2010 Show

So I realize it's taken me forever to post these pictures and I apologize!!!
But I've finally wrapped up my portfolio class and Halloween is behind us now so I've got all this time to blog my little heart out.

The Zandra Rhodes show was amazing to say the least! I love to say that she is like Betsy Johnson but more organic! And it's true! She's got this wacky off beat sense of style that blends so peacefully with her African inspired prints. My favorite piece by far were these pants she called "elephant pants." They were exaggerated bell bottoms made of fringed purple lame.

I think the most surprising thing I learned about her was how short she was, she reminded me of Edna from The Incredibles.

Missing Friend

Has anyone seen my friend Kellen? I'm afraid he might have been eaten by a anaconda or hit by bus considering he's not returning my phone calls.
Well....just in case you do see him, would you tell him to call me please?

thanks!

WWD daily has reported that next in line to design for Target is none other than Jean-Paul Gaultier! He will soon join the likes of Issac Mizrahi, Anna Sui, Alexander McQueen and Rodarte.
On second thought maybe I will open that Target card.
